PSA Attrition
Despite the two TAs that were signed this year regarding the retention bonuses and now the increased pay, for the folks that have left PSA, where did they land?
Does your MEC provide a breakdown of where pilots are moving on to? Number of pilots who flowed to AA vs. the number of pilots who left for a competitor?
Any data is appreciated.

- Total Pilot New Hires: 30
- Total Pilot Attrition: 90
- PSA Pilots Hired by American (Flow): 10
- PSA Pilots Hired by American (Direct Hire): 23
- Non-AA Attrition: 57
this is the only data we are provided.
I know of 6 FO’s that left in June for Spirit and Frontier.

As far as I know, there’s no need for a pilot separating from PSA to specify where or why to the company, so I imagine that would be pretty dang hard to ascertain.

The company has never been very good at reporting specifics like that, despite them most likely receiving PRIA requests from every airline that a former PSA pilot goes to. My guess is data like that would get in the way of the narrative that they want to project, which is everyone goes to AA.

Despite the money being thrown around, I still think it’s in the best interest of a pilot to leave. What’s happening here isn’t remotely sustainable. Go get a mainline seniority number and don’t look back.

I know a couple Captains that decided to stay and flow even though their flow was over a year away. Others will still leave for legacies. I do think this blunts the sense of urgency to leave for an LCC or JetBlue etc.

Schedules on narrowbodies are the same or worse at mainline. Min rest overnights and 3-5 leg days at times. Long sits in the middle of the day. It’s a mess literally everywhere this summer.
