Absolutely true. There are consequences to every choice we make and action we take. If you choose to consume more oil than neccessary, you simply use up the world's finite supply more quickly making the remaining supplies that much more valuable and worthy of spilling blood over. You don't really believe the rest of the world would give a hoot about the Middle East if there wasn't oil there do you?

How do you know he was selling it to evade DOT testing? DOT drug testing is a very small amount of the drug test that are done. I'd venture a guess that the vast majority weren't DOT regulated persons. This stuff has been around for years. 20 years ago it was golden seal. Most physicians can tell you exactly how to get a clean sample. This product won't work for anyone who is given a random immediate test like pilots. Need 1-5 hours for it to work and it won't work if you pre-medicate. It cleans the urine and not the drug from your body. Correction, it could work if you have endless funds and drink it continuously. Probably not real healthy though.

Depends, is he doing strictly for medicinal purposes in a state where it's legal? Maybe I should have qualified that by stating those involved in illegal drugs, in case that wasn't obvious.

He plead guilty. If his lawyer told him to do that, the feds must have had him nailed...perhaps he advertised on his web site (that's what the news article implied) or maybe an FBI agent called to enquire about the product?

Unless some compelling evidence to the contrary turns up, I'm going assume the justice system works.

Your reasoning is totally out to lunch...perhaps you've been drinking to much beer?

Drug violence is related to the sale and distribution of drugs...a local dealer or user is directly contributing to the violence which occurs further up the distribution chain.

Somebody who drinks beer is not harming anyone by drinking it, only if they drive drunk or drink to the point where they get violent.

BTW, I don't have a problem with pot in-and-of itself...as long as it's not distrubuted by gangsters and not smoked by people in safety sensitive jobs.

no it's not. It's because it's illegal. Same as prohibition. You make sugar, caffeine, nicotine, etc. illegal you are going to get violence.

No one has ever plead guilty to a charge they are not guilty of because of the cost of defending themselves? I know I have paid speeding tickets I wasn't guilty of because the cost to contest it was much greater than just paying the fine.

Every time I see her speak and she gets agitated, I think of the German guy in that scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark. The one where they're on the hilltop and open it up, the spirits/demons come out. And the guys face melts right off.
