PSA says NO to concessions!
I'm still awaiting confirmation, but rumor has it that PSA has said no to any type of concessionary agreement that will allow them to fly larger aircraft.
|
If true, then that's excellent news. :)
|
Ha! Good $h!t!
|
See that title wave coming at ya Roger Cohen?
|
...this is a bandwagon we all don't mind jumping on!!!
|
There absolutely nothing to confirm this so dont get excited
|
I haven't heard anything yet but an offer like the one given to eagle will make this rumor turned into truth in a New York minute.
|
Someone on Eagle lounge said they heard last night they said no and also that the Piedmont guys are expecting a visit from Dougie and friends toward the end of the week.

I hope this is true but idk. Maybe it's just me but I've noticed on here there are a lot of psa (assuming new hires or at least recent hires) on here who are very very eager to get some new jets. That being said...was there ever a vote at psa or was this like eagle and allegedly just shot down by the mec?
|
If it's crap offer like the one offered to eagle then I hope our MEC votes it down. As much as I like our guys in PSA, if it comes down to pilot voting, I think sadly we will cave and rather have some future than to get phased out slowly. I'm close to upgrading and any stagnation will probably hurt guys like me with no tpic and too much invested to start at another regional but for the greater good, I hope we do shoot it down!

The title really needs to be changed until somethings official.

Tough in the short term for any of us who have been around a little while, but its worth it for the much greater positive long term outcome. If EVERYONE would just hold the line... :D

I agree. Unfortunately I have no faith in pdt holding the line. And I can't really blame them since they're parking planes with no replacement or fleet plan in sight. So holding the line in our front line just means someone else will fly them for cheaper. But I rather see the planes goto a wholly owned than outsourced.

PSA says NO to concessions!
The jets were going to PSA no matter what. It was a well played strategy that got concessions from all three airlines. ALPA watched it happen, namely Chris Beebe and his under-nose dead animal along with the rest of the AAA MEC.

anddddd que eagle vs. psa vs. pdt here on APC as we all continue in talks for new aircraft.

I'm not Roger Cohen but if you were addressing me with that comment I would only think less of you and probably your peers as well for being unable to grasp simple grammar or overcome autocorrect.

Last PSA pilots heard was that our union was meeting again with mainline "later this week" so I'm assuming today or tomorrow. Little early for such speculation fellas? This thread is one huge breeding ground for trolls

Think Skywest didn't want that AA feed? They have a smart CEO not willing to work on such tight margins. |

Do you recall how RAH got the E175 for USairways? 2004 PSA voted NO to flying them for 50 seat rates..... You see how that turned out for PSA since then...... No wonder RAH can't get a contract when you barely make money because your CEO bids flying so low.....
I did, however, intern at Chautauqua in summer 2004 and helped write the very first E170 ops manual there...which was more or less a word-for-word copy of MidAtlantic's manual with a different logo at the top of the page. Those initial RAH E170s were were to be flown exclusively for United Express with J4J captains. To answer your question...I believe RAH started operating E170s for US Airways in 2005, after purchasing MidAtlantic assets which helped AAA/AWA generate cash before their merger was finalized. But I could be wrong... |

I don't, nor have I ever, flown for RAH; my regional experience came flying at Air Wisconsin.

I do not know when RAH began US Airways Express ops with E170s...did it have to do with the AAA/AWA merger and purchase of MidAtlantic assets in 2005 as part of emergence from Chapter 11, or were there E170s in Airways colors prior to that? Truth is PSA is small with most guys at 6-8 years longevity and thus cost significantly less then most. |
