Default PSA 50 seat aircraft will get parked sooner

Now that PSA has hired enough pilots to cover their inbound 900's and 700's, it appears those 50 seat aircraft will get parked much sooner due to the struggles all regionals are starting to experience in attracting candidates.

You could very well see a micro Endeavor style situation once they announce those 50 seat aircraft are on the way out. Depending on how this plays out, you could also see the 700's stay at Eagle... I mean Envoy.

Proof or an uneducated guess?

quick response from a PSA cheerleader.

You can ignore the situations of the industry, or you can stop deceiving those who you need to staff PSA, that the likelihood of them feeling this pain is very real.

50 seaters, well who knows about the future of those... As far as the Envoy CRJ's... Have you talked to the Envoy MEC? Pretty sure they are not staying and AAG has told ENY there is no way they are staying, and that the 700's will go to PSA... Might want to check your facts, but it was a nice rumor.

If PSA can't staff them, they will not be going to PSA. Or they could leave PSA. Either/or, pick your poison.

Do you remember how many times the Comair birds shifted?

I could make all sort of uneducated guesses as well. I personally would not be surprised if the 200's head over to AWAC. I am not, however, going to come on here and pretend that my guesses are a fact. If you have proof, say it. If it is a guess, say it.

PSA is certainly attracting enough pilots to fill all of the seats. There is still a line of people wanting to come here. It will dry up, just as it will at all of the other regionals. The problem at PSA is upgrading captains fast enough for the growth. That takes time. Right now, unfortunately, time is a commodity that is in short supply.

The 200's being taken away would help that problem and increase the pay of all of the pilots. Since we are paid based on fleet composition, we would get paid more if the 200's were gone.

We currently have 76 airplanes, and have over 1200 pilots on the list. At 10.5 per airplane, and another 150 in the training/management/leave column, we currently have enough pilots for 100 airplanes. Staffing is NOT the issue at this time. There are currently over 250 pilots on property and in the training pipeline right now, with another 4 classes full that will be starting in the next 8 weeks.

You can make all the uneducated guesses you want. I won't. I'll base my assumptions on the industry facts at hand.

New hires being recruited to PSA need to know this possibility is very real and the likelihood is increasing everyday.
