So I'm interviewing this week at PSA. Assuming that goes well, just curious about a couple things on the timeline:
1. Are bases assigned beginning of Indoc?
2. Does it still seem that you can get based anywhere you request? I'll be requesting DAY if that helps.
3. From what I've heard, classes seem to be hitting around mid-April for new hires, sound pretty accurate?
4. Am I correct in thinking start of class date until completion of IOE is around 2-3 months still?
5. Any current new hire DAY ladies or gents have insight on reserve length, if any?

Thanks for all the help yet again!

You will put your standing base bid in though during the first week but as already pointed out you won't see it awarded right away.

There are less delays and cancellations if one regional airline does most of the express flying in one hub rather than multiple regionals spread out over several hubs. This is why PSA is mostly in CLT. The little bit of DCA and PHL flying that PSA does can be problematic because of mandatory scheduled swaps followed by weather, delays, maintenance and cancellation issues.

Does PSA offer opportunities to pick up as many extra trips as you want at premium pay?

As long as you're legal, I don't see why not

And it's 150%? The max you can fly in a month is 100, right?

Any rumor on when the 35 CRJ 200's are being parked? How young is the 200 fleet? I saw a few were getting the new paint job, does that mean they will be around awhile? It seems to me that when oil goes back up to $100 a barrel the 50 seat RJ's will be the kiss of death to all regionals that own them in then this ever changing industry.

2017 is when the first ones begin to come off lease. IMO if it becomes difficult to adequately staff the new/transferred jets then the 50 seaters may be parked earlier seeing as they are less efficient. Time will tell.

No it is not 150%. If you pick up open time on your day off it is paid at 125%. If the day goes critical, which it has not for a while now, you get paid 150%. If you are junior manned on your day off it pays 175%. As far as the 100 hours in a month I am not sure. I believe most of that changed with the 117 rules.

Max 100 hours in 28 days I believe. You can only block a max of 98 per month when dealing with schedule.

So let's say you pick up open time above the guarantee with 125% pay, along with per diem, would that amount to roughly $750-1000 extra per month before taxes?

Doubtful as a first year FO.
Open time is paid at 1.25x actual time flown. So even at that your pay is only $30. You would have to pick up a lot of time to make $1000 over guarentee.
