It simply isn't going to happen. We'll just have to wait and see what solution they come up with...
now i take it with the tiniest of grains of salt, bit the Dion said at the town hall that he/they are well aware of the new contracts and ta's out there with our competitors like the new hire pay thats higher than our 3rd year FO pay. He said "i don't think we will have to do that, but if it comes to it, we have to stay competitive" so who the hell knows. this place is a mystery and extra elusive. like a flying unicorn that craps yummy pancakes covered in diamonds. actually no its not like that im just losing my mind today. |

The reality is, this place was staffed and PSA has hired over 800 pilots. No TA would have ever recruited 800 people this fast. They know they need to keep the planes coming to keep the pilots coming. I think additional 900's will be announced and scheduled after the 24 are delivered pushing the 700's back further, which is also why Eagle was told to expect to continue to have some on property. |

I hope that the company IS sincere in wanting 1500 more pilots! If they actually want that many pilots, they're going to make this place MUCH more attractive. And they'll have to sweeten the pot for BOTH new hires AND current employees. This crap of allowing the company to offer bonuses to new hires, only, simply cannot happen. ALPA cannot let the company compensate select unionized employees outside of the collective bargaining agreement. I realize that other pilot groups have allowed their company management to get away with that crap, but we should fight with every last breath to keep ALPA from allowing it here.
Once it fizzles out then they'll announce more planes, then once that fizzles out they'll, "remain in productive flow increase talks". Republic didn't have staffing problems until American Connection died and growth became replacement, then Delta connection was going to die and new aircraft would be replacement, then the Q-400 parking would cause more replacements in lieu of growth. Quote of the day: Crew morale and compensation have no correlation. -Don Flannery Executive douche |

Nope, they are over announcing needing that many to try and capture the growth thing that worked so well last year and earlier this year.

Well that settles it then if you also heard it on your end. Sounds like PSA is getting additional 900's.

several times as a matter of fact, and another delay will be announced soon. The 12 for next year is now down to 4.

Delivery started last summer. In January, the transfer will be halted and the delivery of the next batch of 24 -900s begins. When delivery of the 24 -900s is complete, AAG will resume the -700 transfer between Envoy and PSA.
Thus far, there have been adjustments to the -700 transfer. There is talk of parking the -200s in the event staffing becomes a larger issue (personally, I believe staffing will become a larger issue.). I was at Comair for 15 years and stayed until Delta shut us down. The last 2-3 years was a classic example of "word of mouth with a little lip service." For all you yes voters.. this is why this was a dumb deal.. adjustments are based on supposed CA upgrades.... when they decide to park planes, they don't need as many captains.. |
