PSA 20 year flow to AA(or more)
A young recruiter for AA stood up at a recent town hall meeting with Doug Parker. She said she was having trouble finding new hires willing to come to PSA because they had at least a 20 year flow to AA.
Really if you took all 1300 PSA pilots, it is currently 27+ years to flow assuming they all took it. Assuming some will go elsewhere, 20 years is very reasonable.
Google the list of mandatory airline pilot retirements and it will bring you right back to a table on a thread here at APC. Guess what, the bubble of retirements is over in 20 years. You'll miss the boat of you wait that long!
Also looking at the table, notice that mandatory retirements are not astronomical; the majors are never going to experience anything less than competitive hiring. The PSA people on this forum would blow smoke and mirrors at you and have you believe that "who needs a flow when anyone will be able to get hired at a major soon". Do you really want to put your eggs in those baskets?

Troll would imply he is being purposefully deceitful and/or making false arguments. For an example, see FirstClass and anything he posts.
As for this thread....is anything the OP said false or deceitful? On the contrary, it is completely accurate information albeit inconvenient information for PSA pilots and their apologists.
He did get one thing wrong. It was not an AA recruiter who stood up and begged for an Envoy style flow. It was PSA's head recruiter herself. And it was all caught on video....much to the dismay of PSA pilots.

How is that working out for PSA pilots now? You, and other PSA pilots, constantly state on here how low your attrition is. Gee, low attrition because people want to STAY at a regional. Oooookayyy.

I'm not trolling at all. However, because PSA has been trolling other regional forums, putting out misinformation, I feel the need to highlight your own shortcomings, which are very true.

Well it's not exactly "new news" and it isn't exactly deserving of its own thread in my opinion. If your end game is to fly for American Airlines, then go to Poedmont or Envoy. If your goal is to get TPIC, make some money, not be on reserve for very long (as an FO at least), and get out of the regional rat race quicker... Then PSA is a good choice.
And just to add, rumor has it the company is asking for some serious relief in the contract language about DECs and not offering up much in return for our SSP. So I personally wouldn't count on it increasing at all.
