They can not pay someone outside of the CBA. Playing word games and saying they were not an employee when given the bonus will not fly in a federal court. But, in order to be stopped the union would have to challenge it but they don't because they benefit form the new dues paying employees. They could easily go to federal court and get an injunction to stop it and they could even have the court order the money to be returned by the receiver. They could even have the receiver turn the bonus over to the union. If you can pay outside of the CBA then there is no CBA.

They are not collecting dues for first year fos. This has nothing to to FO with dues. This has to do with us being treated like complete second rate workers in a sweat shop when u work for an American WO. It certainly is a joke what they are doing and how they are treating us.

Then quit. Go to Republic, or Endeavor.

I've been eyeing commutair. My friend there has a much better QOL.

I was able to get in pdt at the beginning of the hiring wave so for a new guy.. I'm senior.. That's tough to give up, I'm giving it to end of year. My f I don't see a marked improvement here I'm getting out. Our skid are literally taking years off my life.

For the life of me (unless they happen to live within driving distance of CLT, TYS, DAY, or CVG), I can't figure out why anyone would come to PSA right now. Nor can I understand why any recently hired F/O is not trying to move laterally to Commutair, Republic, Endeavor, or even TSA and Gojet.

What part of better pay and much quicker upgrade do they not like?

Surely they're not here for the "flow". That's a fools errand.

Other than pay or if you live in or near a base for one of the above mentioned airlines, lateral moves don't always make much sense. They certainly don't look good on a resume.

If you come to an airline for the right reasons to begin with then there should be no reason to leave. I came for a an easy 1 leg commute to/from CLT and the SAP. Both are working out great for me even if it takes a little longer to upgrade. It is taking the average FO almost 2 years to get their 1,000 hours of 121 time here so if it takes 3 to upgrade that definitely isn't a bad thing from a safety aspect. And flow? Who honestly cares? I came here before we had a flow. And honestly, unless it drastically increases (which isn't going to happen) then I just don't care about it.

I'm not so sure about that. Additional training completed and additional type ratings are not a bad thing.

Delta, United, AA, FedEx, and UPS know that if you go to work there, you are not likely to go somewhere else. Why would they really care about you switching regionals a few years before?

I'm not making it up. It has been said by recruiters. They would prefer an FO from somewhere like ExpressJet who has stuck it out at his company for 5+ years than a guy who has bounced around regionals chasing a quick upgrade. If you have been somewhere for a number of years, then yea maybe... But then again why would you be making a lateral move and not an upward move to an LCC or something?
