They have a new Stealth Air 22" with side pockets it's metal but same weight as the plastic. 289 and made in the USA.

I recognize that the metal LW is heavier than most, but if you're struggling to load yours into an overhead bin, you can always ask the 50 year old sweet lady gate agent to lift it for you.

I see your point. And I might have exaggerated a bit by saying that the bag got destroyed. Looking in retrospective another bag probably would not have lasted 3 months had I put it through the same situation. But my point is, a true good bag does not have to be as heavy and as ugly as the metal LW are. So if you ask me if it is a good bag, the answer is still a definite no.

Fair enough. Doesn't bother me, but my wife doesn't like to use it due to its weight. I find that the extra weight makes it feel tougher overall. Feels good in the hand, much like a H&K .40 does. ;)

Or like an FNAR in .308. Keep the total weights similar:D

When I flew for the regionals, LW. Now, it's the largest suitcase possible, and I check it.

Since there isn't too much love for the Travel Pro bags, here's my take.

I used to have the LW Stealth and can't believe I had wasted money on LW before.

I have the Flight Crew 5 Pilot 22 Expandable now.

It's extremely durable and doesn't show the beating like a heavy, ugly metal box on wheels. It fits in every bin I've ever tried to put it in and it works as an international carry on. It easily holds enough stuff for a 4 day trip and has room for multiple pairs of shoes. It's half the price currently (always on sale it seems) has a 3 year warranty and even has a padded pocket to place your EFB/laptop. The handle is flush with the body and can adjust to multiple heights. It has pockets galore for all your needs. Comes with a J hook. The wheels are rock solid and it rolls silently. I've seen it get thrown around by rampers and it still doesn't have a scratch on it. One of my favorite things about it is that it's not the stereotypical boxy crew bag. It's a classy addition to your person and you can travel without a uniform on and not stand out. I've talked to multiple people who have them as well and they can't say enough good things about it either. I've also spoken to crews with LW and SB and they want to know where I got it.

All in all, 10/10 with this bag. It's okay to not follow everyone sometimes...

Great post, however original poster has to lug a flight case and TP is not
up to the task.

What airline still uses a flight case these days? The luggage works bags are now China made pieces of ****. Spend a $100 on the Kirkland Costco bag. It will last you just as long. Most people who have had the luggage works bag last for years bought them before they were turned into pieces of ****.

I've had mine around two years. I like it more than the LW, the layout is better, the pockets are better, and the weight is better.

However it doesn't hold up compared to my LW. I did have the handle fixed once under warranty (it cracked). The zippers on the back are broken and material is torn. One of the side pockets has torn material. I do commute so that is part of it.

I needed a new bag and if I can get 3 years out of the Travel Pro bag I will be happy as that is a similar useful life of my LW that I had for six years. I'm sure it would hold up better if I didn't commute.

When I move to base again I'll buy the LW Air. I enjoy the feeling of their bags and how they look, but didn't want to destroy a $300 bag commuting every week.
