Default Envoy's New Captain Awards!

Envoy's latest Captain Awards drops the upgrade times down to just 3 years while continuing to trend down for a 2 year upgrade.
Perspective new hires may see a 2 year upgrade & 5.5 year flow to AA by years end 2017.

Congrats to all the new Captain awards!

Are upgrades so rare over there that it warrants a new thread?

Many of us have been trying to point out this trend for a long time...and just received hate and insults. "Salesman" and other childish name calling. The proof is in the pudding as they say. Envoy pilots will upgrade in 2 years and flow to AA in 5. Care to continue to call us salesman?

More rare than proper hygiene on your miniature gentleman appendage perhaps.

Well, there are 2 answers from 2 different camps. Short answer is, as of late upgrades are not rare. But they were rare for awhile during the tumultuous times when Us Air came to the party and started hammering us for pay cuts and the resulting contract war/massive shrinking. So most of us are excited that the upgrade has dropped like a rock from 8ish years to now 3 years in a relatively short amount of time over the last few months. And we'll be at 2ish years later this year. So it's definitely nice to see this after years of beatings. Now, on the flip side we have lots of company salesmen (management types) on this and other forums that love to make a lot of loud noise about any type of positive news, such as starting a new thread about the latest vacancy. The over the top, blatant salesmen posts have seemingly decreased in frequency over the last few months but they still pop up from time to time.

What's a "perspective" new hire? A geometrically proportioned new hire?

What about fat new hires? Do they wait longer for upgrade?

The thing is, we wouldn't call you guys salesmen if you wanted to talk about the upgrade time dropping as being a good thing. Nobody has denied the upgrade time is dropping. And nobody is saying the flow is a bad thing. The problem most of us have are the posts that convey that Envoy is the greatest regional airline in the world without any single QOL issues to be concerned about and everything is hunky dory, rainbows and unicorns. First year pay, upgrade time dropping, and flow are all great things. No doubt. But if you guys acknowledged the many QOL issues that are currently plaguing this airline as well, everyone would take you more seriously and you wouldn't come off as salesmen. Gotta take the bad with the good.

Got a good laugh from this

There's nothing wrong with celebrating some upgrades, but a whole new thread? That is kind of... salesman-ish.

Not surprised to see Skywest Snowflakes really, really angry about this. Any threat to their sense of superiority is an immediate trigger.
