Info on Mesaba?
 

I am in a class right now that is having a debate on mesaba and I was wondering if anyone has an sources on how to obtain good info on their financial state, the pending deal with NWA, what effect the new CRJ900 will have on the compnay and it's pilots? Thanks for all the help!

Mesaba filed its "Plan of Reorganization of Debtor" on January 22, 2007. It is on file with the US Bankruptcy Court, District of Minnesota, Third Division. The Bankruptcy number is 05-39258.

You have to use the tool called PACER. Link is on the left navigation pane. There is a fee for the document, but your education institute likely can obtain a "learning" copy for free by contacting the court clerk's office. For the general public, the price is 8 cents per page (goverment has to pay the bills!) and according to my .pdf, it is 139 pages. Worst case, it will run you $12. In it, you will find answers to many of your questions related to the financial condition and relationship with NWA.

A Serive Agreement between Mesaba and NWA is still being worked. I have no details regarding terms, duration, or compensation for flights provided to NWA.

The CRJ's have put Mesaba in growth mode. Additional hiring etc. The addition of the 36 jets has also extended the amendable date of our TA until 2012, that is not so good. More airplanes also means more flights, means more revenue in. More airplanes also equals more costs (maintenance, crews, training), so depending on how the Service Agreement finalizes, the profit margin remains to be seen.
