Agreed. TSA, operating as Eagle, had upgrades well in the year to year and a half mark in 2014-2015. I know Compass, PDT, and PSA operating as Eagle also have had pretty quick upgrades as Eagle.

Please. If you're not ready after 2 years, you're not likely to get much more ready with more experience. 2 years is plenty of time to figure out how to keep yourself out of trouble. The rest you will learn as you go.

Any decent FO who isn't daydreaming through all 4 legs and actually gets involved in the process should easily be ready to upgrade after two years. All the other airlines have been doing this with no problems so far..

But yes, about 50% of embry graduates do not know how to fly airplanes. The other half don't know how to handle the fact that they can

Compass use to be the fastest but have they allowed upgrades since their stoppage on new hires/upgrades? Haven't followed their news since besides the MSP closure.

both upgrades and hiring has resumed at Compass.its not a lot initially, but we just closed a bid for 6 upgrades a few days ago. They went pretty senior, though. I imagine it will pick to more than six at a time over the next few months but who knows... I'm often wrong.

I hear what you're saying, but at my regional a lot of the 2 year captains have many years of 135 or 121 experience (guys who left the industry and came back, ComAir guys, etc.) For every spiky haired 24 year old CA, we have a lot of grey haired 'junior' CAs and even FOs. Just because you're junior at an airline doesn't mean it's your first rodeo.
