Have a little Respect for you & your Industry
Ok............ I understand that the industry has taken a beating, but I think its time we do more than "Complain" about it. As I walk through the airport, lately, I am seeing a lot of overweight (Mostly Older guys, young too "CAL"), sloppy looking pilots. Shave your face, brush your hair and shine your shoes. Also I dont think anybody, 777CA, or Beech 1900 FO should be allowed to wear Sketchers, or Doc Martins...................have some respect you look like a slob. Please Iron your shirt, and tuck in your shirt. I may very well be venting here, but the more sloppy we look to the public the more sloppy we as "Professionals" appear. Get your pants hemmed if their too long and if your shirt has Coffee stains that can't be removed, BUY a new one. Im proud of what we do, and try to present myself as such.........................Anybody ****ed off at how some of us carry oursleves on a day to day bases.
P.S. Not to rip on MESA, but in PIT I saw some MESA CA walking around with cheesy Oaklies, Doc Martins, and an IPOD headphones in his ears.................GROW UP!!! |

I agree with you. The only way to maintain the respect pilots used to get is to act and appear as they did when the industry was glamorous. Just because the pay isn't what it used to be doesn't mean that pilots should change their appearance or the way they act.

Yeah but sunglasses in the terminal? as well as IPOD walking down the terminal??????????? Come on, and if your gonna wear Docs, at least make sure they are somewhat scuff free and don't look 9 years old:cool:

Please don't get me wrong, I don't think we should look like hobos. I don't like it when people dont shave either. But the IPOD thing (even though I don't do it) doesn't bother me whatsoever. Sunglasses...maybe on top of the head, but in the terminal- no. |
Yeah IPOD thing I dunno, I mean if your sitting down ok but Sometimes I see guys walking around with them in the ears, I dunno just looks so "tuned" out. I think maybe I just feel that way cause we have a ton of guys here at XJT that do it..who knows

How many RJ drivers out there plug in their IPOD during cruise? Any you know of Saab? I've seen one CJC'er do it...it was a Captain.
