Unfortunately our HR dept. doesn't put much stock on internal rec's. (Unless it's somebody really high up.) I work in the training dept. and I can't even get a friend in a short interview line. It's because the people in charge of hiring pilots aren't even pilots. (Makes sense doesn't it)

Better than CAL's tactics.........................you could be the worst pilot in the world, but as long as you have people that are at CAL, your set

SAAB, my good buddy, unfortunately that's not the case either. It is 100% the HR's dept.'s call on who gets hired. Our pilot interviewers could give someone a 0 score and recommend the person not be hired on lack of knowledge and if the HR wants them they'll be hired.

haha nah I meant at least we interview non-referred people, CAL isnt down with that :)
