Default MESA= no pilots!!!

Just got of the phone with a friend of mine, he is on the upper ladder of the MEC. As far as attrition goes over the last two months 15 CA went to majors mostly Jet Blue and 120 fo’s went to various regionals. ONEHUNDRED and TWENTY good GOD!
When I left there over a year ago it was one or two here and there but am happy to see my fellow mesa pilots are finally doing it… SINK that rat ship JO captains sink it………

Yes it sure is good to see pilots move on to companies that treat their people right. I sure am glad I did. JO has a monumental problem on his hands... the solution? CHINA! hahahah this is going to be interesting to watch. I am glad that all my friends are looking at getting out. In fact, a couple have interviews with better airlines this week!

Mesa/Freedom/AMW Airlines is a pilot's nightmare and an arrogant, stock-riding management tool's wet dream.

I'll believe it when I see it. You would think so though...

With all the Zero to hero flight schools and flight instructors out numbering
students, MESA will not have any problem filling open slots. Low time pilots are a dime a dozen.

I saw a TV commercial yesterday in Phoenix. "Join Mesa Airlines"!
complete with a smiling kid in a pilot's uniform.

Serious question: Does any other airline have TV commercials to find people?

Don't worry, when Delta comes out of Bankrupcy, they will cut the crap out of their system. There has been an article released to that effect. It does not identify any Delta Connection carriers, but they want to make sure they are getting a good service out of them.

I disagree, because even most of the zero to hero grads that I know have already been educated about places like Mesa. They are striving to try to get on with good companies... XJT, Comair, Republic.

Mesa IS having trouble filling slots, that's why they are sending RJs to China!

Are you kidding?

Flight instructors are a hot commodity nowadays. Flight schools can retain enough....

Where have you been?

I think you meant CAN'T...but I graduated from Spartan in Tulsa OK and I know they are looking at making the new instructors sign a contract because they can't even keep them 6 months. That is definately something different. It use to be hard to get a job there.

I do agree though that Mesa is in trouble. Our pilot group is slowly shrinking. Even with the new hires that came out on the latest bid we have less than 1750. And of course we are losing 8 ERJ from the Delta system in less than a year.
