Commuting is the only downfall I see with Pinnacle. But it is the same downfall anywhere you go. If you live in Boston, being based at home is like working part time for the same pay as a full timer. But you have to weigh all the positives and negatives and see what is right for you.
But it is better than commuting. Way better. First year pay everywhere is criminally low. QOL issues should be your #1 concern, overriding almost everthing else. And if you're unhappy after three or four months on line, don't be afraid to jump ship. Its so much harder to go back to the bottom of a seniority list after you see second year pay. |
Hey Yzerman, you said that you started on the 26th? So did I. PM me and tell me who you are. Gotta love that intstructor Robert huh?

Just a few words of caution:
1. There is a strong argument to not commute if you can avoid it, no matter what the airline. 2. Upgrade times are hard to predict. 3. Pinnacle upgrade is fast only if you are high time. It you get hired with low times you will be in the right seat for a number of years until you get to 3000 hours (assuming the upgrade minimums don't change). So the Pinnacle upgrade may end up being close to the Eagle upgrade in this case. How many hours do you have? |
Sorry if this has been answered before, but does Pinnacle have a training contract?
If they do, how long is the commitment? Finally, Is the $300 per /week during training official? Thanks........ |

Go Pinnacle...the upgrade is the lowest in the industry for an all jet regional. All the regionals are cyclical on who has a great contract, who has early upgrade, etc... Pinnacle is probably the regional with the most potential to make a move in the near future. Rumor (if you believe it) is that the contract is all but complete, and first two years FO pay in going to increase drastically. Also, the pilots there seem to be some of the happiest in the regionals. AE is not a bad company at all, but remember if you go Pinnacle, you will be at a major before you even upgrade at AE.

Thanks CTD57
I'm going to apply now that I found out I have relatives in DTW that I can stay with.
will 800 and 110, crj/fms training help get an interview? Or are the 1000 TT requirements strict for Non ATP graduates like me? Thanks.. |
I would be applying to everyone right now. You have more time than most in the new hire class at Pinnacle.
