I’m choosing Skywest.

Fill in the blank, I'm choosing SkyWest because: I don't know what pilots are worth and love lousy pay and 1% raises!

Take the local job.. get 2000 hours 121 time and than take a job with jet blue and have the long beach base... you won't make a livable wage at sly west for a few years...

What about envoy? There are fos there that can make 70 to 80k a year and there is a Miami base?

You might be able to get the job at Allegiant right away...

I would say go ERJ. There are no CRJs in SAN and soon to be none in SEA. The ERJ growth is mostly out West.

The reason you're getting flak is because you can glean all these answers, and more, by reading the relevant SKW threads. Which one is "best" is entirely dependent on you. Would you rather have quick seniority or longer flights? Would you rather have seniority on an airplane or move to LA as soon as possible? We can't answer these questions for you and you're going to need to learn to be more self sufficient if you want to survive in this industry. The reason a lot of airlines are able to fill classes (and thus justify not raising pay) is because people get lured in with very little research by recruiters. It's very frustrating to be on the other side, trying to convince your company they need to raise pay, when people who have done zero research are flooding classes.

Then why didn't you ask in the SkyWest section instead of the general one?

Anyone who isn't at SkyWest can't answer your questions about those and posting in the general forum just makes it seem more like a broadcast of what you're doing than a question.

I just realized there was a specific Skywest section. I don’t use this forum often and it’ll probably stay that way after the replies I mostly received.

We'll miss you.

Seriously no one has said anything here that scathing to you. Try posting something stupid on the Skywest Facebook group and see how it goes over. I've seen at least one person likely tank their career, at least short term, over it. There's a lot of good advice here and you're brushing it off as "Bitter unhappy people" rather than looking into it.

I’m trying to do the research hence why I asked the questions. I understand there isn’t a perfect company, you cant please everyone but I made my choice according to what I believe is best for ME. The post wasn’t meant as a “hey look at me, I chose SKywest” it was a legitimate attempt to get some real answers from SKYWEST pilots who are currently flying the line not a recruiter. I honestly don’t care what the opinion is about the company I care about what the opinion is on the airframes. PS I did try reading a few posts but none of the ones I found had what I was looking for. If you don’t like what I asked, move on you don’t have to respond.

We're just trying to speak a little truth. 9E, the AA WOs, republic, etc are all upping pay, finally getting close to where it should be. SkyPest voted in a lousy contract with lousy pay. That undercuts what every other pilot group is trying to accomplish. I'm sure you'll understand why we we won't shed any tears when you leave this forum. I just hope you open your eyes to see what the market is for pilots right now.
