I really dont care, dont work for anyone associated with them, just find it humorous that people blast them all the time meanwhile those guys are getting hired just fine.

This is one of the big problems with ALPA. There's absolutely no reason that ALPA carriers should even look at the resume of a GoJet pilot, except maybe to call them in for an interview so that they could attempt to explain their decision.
However, now that that there's movement at major level, the hiring of GJ pilots will quickly grind to a halt at any carrier which posts the interview list in the crew room.

If that line of thinking will help you sleep at night, then go for it. I think gojet pilots will not have a very hard time getting hired in the long run. This battle going on is so petty in the grand scheme of things and its something that has happened before and will happen again.

Hey do you have an interview with them or something, you seem to be defending them.....................

Thats a definite negative. I dont disagree that its wrong, and i personally would never go work for them, that self serving mentality is completely destructive and brings down the whole industry. I just think theres too much petty complaining on the issue and in the big picture these guys wont have a very hard time getting hired. Where it will bite them in the @ss is when they try and jump seat and the like, then they realize the pain of their back stabbing. Side note, just got hired with Big Sky last week, class 4/16!

Congrats..............what/who do they fly for?????????

mccube5 03-27-2007 11:18 AM

1900's and back in december they were awarded a bunch of flying for delta out of boston.

I'm not normally one to say this, but the opinion of a 172 driver on this subject is pretty invalid.
Side note, good luck with a company that can't hold on to EAS routes.

I may be slightly biased since they turned me down for a job, but I've heard hardly anything good about them since I interviewed.

Seems to me that its a managerial decision to not hold onto those routes. I get the impression mgmt. is trying to move business out of the northwest and into the northeast, apparently thats where a lot of them are from. I also feel pretty confident about the situation since their fleet will be doubling in the next year. Yup im taking the first 121 gig offered to me, and yup im planning on the quick upgrade and gettin out ASAP and it could all backfire in my face. At least at that point ill be a little better qualified to make a lateral move if need be.

So while I agree my opinion should come with nothing more than a grain of salt being that I am, as you put it "172 driver", understand that perhaps I know a few people who arent just "172 drivers" and they give me their opinion on the situation on top of the fact that these forums would allow someone to completely educate themselves on the whole situation
