Question Internship for a student (11th grade in Germany)

Hello everybody,
I currently go to 11th grade in Germany, am a US-citizen though. I have the opportunity to do an internship outside of Germany next year (so 12th grade of 13 then). I know that interns are usually from colleges and I really want to do a pilot internship later when in college back in the US. Is there any opportunity you know of? Or can you name me some people I could call?
I post this in the regional section because I believe an internship at a regional would be more realistic as I am still in school, well, it's not really highschool, but not in college.
Do you think this is possible? Of course not a pilot internship but just something with the airlines or any other company that flies planes! I'm interested in the entire business and I like to have to do with aviation so I'd be happy about any possibility there is.

Thanks in advance - I'd appreceate any ideas or hints you could give me!

Best wishes and clear skies
-Jakob

You may want to concider holding off on an internship if you're planning on going to college (especially one with an aviation degree). (1) They'll have a lot of connections and will help you find and internship position. (2) There's a good chance you can count an internship towards college credits. (3) The networking you do at an internship will be more valuable to you in your later years of college when you're job hunting. (4) All internships that I've seen usually require you to be a college student enroled in an aviation program and have Junior or Senior standings. I think you're best bet is to get some sort of aviation related job (line work, baggage handler, etc.) Future employers will like seeing this just as much as an internship.

OK! Thanks for the info so far. I am definatly planning on doing an internship with a major carrier while in college and I have gotten a lot of info about those internships. I have followed the threads on here about that topic. I just thought that it would be possible to do something other than a pilot internship for college students while still in "regular" school. I just had the idea of doing something now and later while in college.
If anyone else has any further ideas? Thanks!
The idea of working as a baggage handler or something similar is very good, but I would have to somehow make it an internship so my school lets me do it. I'm not supposed to work but to do an internship. For that I could call the airports though.

Thanks again and I'd be happy about any further hints!
