My logbook stats are: 1411TT and 126 MEL and 1 Turbine, I do have BA and my ATP-Written. Anyone know about there interview please speak! Also have they started a sim as well?

You are crazy. You'll be on the street shortly. I'd go to the interview to practice if I were you and once offered the job, turn it down. Tell them you are not a fit, they pay too little, the opportunity doesn't look too promising, etc . . . . .

I think Ellen is going a little far with this one...but I guess we'll see.

schoolio 03-29-2007 11:55 AM

Yeah, I think that's a little far. At least take the job, do the training, and finish IOE. Then as soon as you hit the line, start looking elsewhere.

Why waste time. Try to get an interview at the best place (your first choice) right off the bat. That way you won't spend countless of years in the simulator TRAINING steep turns, V1 cuts, SE ILS App to mins and MA, you'll be out flying the line. Just my point of view. Don't forget, airlines need us as much as we need them. It's an INTERVIEW. They interview you and YOU interview them.

No IOE at Piedmont :D

You're right, you definitely want to go to your first choice airline.

However, if PDT is the only place that's calling back, then it's nice to get your foot in the door somehow.

Yeah yeah, I just didn't want to have to go through the whole "What's SOE?" thing...

Interviews

Since June 2006 I have been to way too many 121 interviews and no offers!
I am going to try PDT and following week Mesaba other wise guess will have to go do some 135 and try again then I DON'T KNOW WHAT MORE TO DO! If the off chance PDT offers I will take it! Get through a 121 training program maybe get out onto the line a bit and move onward. Also I have an almost sealed deal with a VERY prestigious G450 company and I will start @ 80K on a G450. My friend the CP at the company is lowering min to 2000TT and 250 normal is 3000 and 500. And I would be sent to FSI for a G5 Type. So based on my hours I am close.........Negative to this is a 3 week on and 1 month off schedule. Those 3 weeks your away from home. At least at a 121 when you have the ability to hold a line can make your schedule based on senority?

1411TT
126 MEL
1 Turbine
4 yr. BA
121 - ATP Passed

Thanks

Just out of curiosity....how did you get 1 hour of turbine time? Could the interviewers see that 1 hour and think it is not real time? You seem like you are trying hard, and have been turned down by a lot of places, maybe you should try a professional interview prep. It is not a bad thing to do, and it could help find out what it is that the interviewers do not like. Just a suggestion....

DMEarc 03-29-2007 05:55 PM

How many interviews have you been on Pilot754?

Did you fail any checkrides? If so, how many?

MustangFa1con 03-29-2007 06:34 PM

FYI: PDT doesn't run your typical 121 training program, they run an accelerated AQP program that emphasizes LOFT and CRM, etc...it's pretty intense and quick, but thurough...they are the only fully-AQP compliant regional airline out there actually, and they were one of the first airlines ever to have a fully certified AQP program (I think some others are United, Delta, Alaska, ACA(back in the day)).

BTW, that answers that other guy's questions too, as to why they don't have IOE; in the AQP program, it's not "I"OE, it's basically the same thing just called SOE (funny, flyfresno :-D)

samstanton 04-15-2007 06:14 PM

Hey FlyFresno did you do your primary flight training or instructing in beautiful Fresno?

Surprisingly. . .they don't pay that bad. Their 1st year pay is only second to Horizon.

Why would he lie about 1 hour? I interviewed at Piedmont over a year ago with 1.5 PIC Turbine in my logbook and got the job.

KiloAlpha 04-15-2007 08:14 PM

How's 6th year FO pay looking? You'll be seeing it someday

Captjhan 04-17-2007 07:52 AM

if you're breathing, you'll get the job.

Whatever your flight time, just get the gauge for the written test during the interview and once you pass that, you CANNOT FAIL THE INTERVIEW. You will be offered a job with Piedmont. (As long as you pass the written) As far as upgrade time, Piedmont will have merged with PSA by 2010, so take that into consideration.
P.S. Hey Schoolio, how's EXPJ?

Yeah, its 2nd year and beyond that are really sub par. And its tough to convince youself to jump ship after probation and start all over at the bottom of a seniorty list.

So, take the job, get some good training, fly a bit, and move on before leaving hurts too bad.

So far so good. The hardest part is getting used to the attitudes here. Either everyone drinks the kool aid, or this is one helluva company. Either way, training is going well so far.

How many more ROA FOs have jumped ship this month?

Captjhan 04-17-2007 03:11 PM

...

You were the latest. C.Florin will be next, he's going to Horizon. On the upside, with four fewer pilots than lines, everone has a hard line.

RedBaron007 04-24-2007 07:59 PM

So has anybody seen anything in their crystal balls about what would happen if Piedmont and PSA were to merge in the future (which is looking increasingly likely)? Would the pilot groups be merged? Would there be furloughs? How would it impact PSA pilots and how would it impact Piedmont pilots? I'm just curious all-in-all.
