Current 121/135 pilots can also interview under 1000TT but must be at or above 1000TT by the time they start ground school.
This is straight from the cat’s mouth; I was in her office 2 days ago.

Maybe, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if that changes within 12 months when Skywest realizes that they are losing qualified folks to other carriers... not saying it's right, but the market is changing...

Clear left,
Several of these flight schools are facing CFI shortage, so you do the math. No CFI=No pilots. The demand keep growing.
Change the subject a little bit, GREAT NEWS. I just checked climbto350 and saw that Big Sky Airlines is offering a 5000 dollar sign up bonus for their First Officers. WHO SAID THERE IS NOT A PILOT SHORTAGE!!!!!
GOOD LUCK GUYS

Maybe, but as long as pilots are bailing from MAG, Colgan, GoJets, PSA, CommutAir and many more; SKW will continue to hold true (for now) to their 1000TT.

You can interview and get hired at 850 TT. (Those are the minimums) Insurance may require one to have a few more hours to fly.

As much as Flight instructing is discouraged for the sole purpose of building time, who is going to do it if people are getting hired with wet ink on their comm certs? I would think the shortage at the airlines will lead to a shortage of instructors which will only aggravate the pilot shortage in general. What will we do then?

Obviously you don't understand. A "Hire" date in the airlines is the date you start ground school. Until then, it's a "Conditional Offer of Employment."

Are the new airline pilots doing this? Who knows. But, if I had a $35,000-$40,000 loan for and ALLATP school I had to pay, $18-$20/hour looks a lot better than $8.00-$10.00 flight Instructor.

Interviewing and receiving a Conditional Offer of Employment is almost as good as being hired UNLESS you choose not to fulfill the conditions for your employment. . . like the additional 150 hours one needs to pad their log book so one can start ground school, or the ability to pass the FBI's Criminal History Records Check.
In addition, Conditional Offers of Employment are routinely offered in almost ALL businesses, because it offers an OUT for the employer, without any LEGAL ramifications, if they change their mind, whether it's your class start date or if they choose not to hire you at all for whatever reason.
If you accept an Unconditional Offer and the company tries to withdraw the offer, you can sue for breach of contract, and vice versa. That's why it's done this way in case you don't understand.
