If you're near Punta Cana, according to the Route Map on aa.com you've got direct flights to both CLT and PHL. PHL may end up pretty Junior, CLT will take you a bit, especially as other bases open.

There's also direct flights to CLT from Puerto Plata, and PHL from Santo Domingo.

You're likely to end up with a fair amount of commuting pain for the first year or two, but of the three carriers you've listed, I'd take PSA in a heartbeat, because ultimately the commute is one leg, and way down the road is a flow to AA and ultimately a MIA base.

What I don't know enough about is getting MIA at Republic and how that works out, but at PSA you'll have relatively good priority in the back of mainline metal back to the Island.

All that said do your own homework on the commutes and frequencies to CLT and PHL from the DR.

Thank you guys for all the educated different perspectives. At the end of the day I feel privileged to be welcomed to an industry filled with so many cool professionals that love what they do, as much as I do. I understand and accept it's gonna be hard at first but I'm also aware that apparently there hasn't been a better time to enter the industry.

Proof, or just fake news?

People don’t understand that you can have both. PBS is just a different way of bidding and awarding lines. This doesn’t mean that SAP can’t exist as well. So technically “as we know it” is true, SAP going away completely isn’t. All depends on how future negotiations fall into place.

NY would also be a one leg commute in the meantime while you wait for MIA with Envoy? I guess same same for Republic.

Yeah it shouldn't be that bad I guess, especially since I'm willing to pay my dues for a few years. It's just that reading all these forums was sort of a reality check that kinda burst my bubble. I still wouldn't have it any other way. This job still beats spending my life in an office or on-site project management. I guess the outside view makes it all worth it.
