ORD Eagle line
Curious, Anyone know what a typical Eagle line for the ERJ out of ORD would look like? Anyone at Eagle in ORD?

Wow that sucks, 5 legs the first day. I get bent out shape doing more than 3 any day.

I hope not, typically only the reserves end up with 5 leg days here. I haven't had one since.

Typical AWAC four day: 5-7 legs Day One, 2 legs Day Two, 2 legs Day Three, 5-6 legs Day Last (making you miss your commute home). Typical credit: 19-21 hours. I actually don't mind doing 4-7 legs; I'd rather block 6.5-7.5 hours each day I'm working than waste my life away in hotels only making per-diem... |

Flying less legs on day 1 and 4 means more time at home (not away from base). It would be easier to commute. Why would the company build lines like that when it won't cost them anymore to make them pilot friendly? Are most companies like this? |

That seems backwards. It seems a pilot would ideally like 2 legs on the first and last day, with 5-6 legs on days three and four.

Work for XJT, I haven't done a 5 legger since reserve. As a line holder I never see them, 3 legs maybe 4 (at total 20-21hours credit) is the most I ever do. Granted, they are longer legs but still 5 legs suck in my humble opinion.
Recent pairing: DAY 1: IAH-RDU RDU-IAH IAH-MEM DAY 2: MEM-EWR EWR-DCA DAY 3: DCA-CLE CLE-STL DAY 4: STL-CLE CLE-TYS TYS-IAH Total 20.18 |

Even a few MKW-PHL for early shows. Glad to give you all a lift! |
And believe me...all our Wisconsin commuters are VERY thankful for the ride!!!

I work for Eagle and if you are ORD based, you basically do turns in and out of ORD 75% of the time. This way they can 'adjust' your schedule when weather hits instead of getting stuck at a random station. Eagle is a hub-and-spoke system as opposed to XJT which is working the point to point flying much more than we do. |
