Things FA's say.

Well this isn't what an FA said but what a bunch of FAs did and ended up in a NTSB report for it. The plane was I believe a E-jet and it was a ferry flight no pax onboard. The C FA was a trainee who was counting the alcohol cart when her fellow FAs called her to the front to take a pic of one of em in the cockpit JS (Against company policy for any FA to be in that seat) Anyway she forgot to lock and secure the cart so on touchdown TR activated and the cart went flying forward like an empty 757 on static takeoff. One the FAs was seriously injured with part of her crushed by the cart, had to be airlifted.

I don't. I worked at the company at the time. Considering management fired people like it was a bodily function, I'm stunned they kept their job. This particular CA, as you said though, was very good at dancing on the carpet.

How did he dance it so he didn't get fired? Also I think I read about this on a ASRS newsletter but cant find it in the database anywhere.

Ferrying an airplane due to a really minor door issue. FA was a little jumpy.
Captain gets up to go the bathroom. So I put the O2 mask on.
FA walks up to cockpit to see what’s going on and sees me with the O2 mask on proceeds to freak out and yell “WHY DO YOU HAVE THAT ON!!!” Scrambles for the observe mask while continuing to yell “I CANT GET THIS ON! IS IT WORKING?! WHATS GOING ON!!”
All while ATC is giving some vectors for traffic so I’m trying to talk to him and tell the FA to knock it off.
The FA is literally on his knees in the entrance to the cockpit just holding the observers mask to his face hyperventilating as the CA saunters back up the the cockpit
CA: “What the hell is going on up here?”

Found the NTSB report, it was a shocking read and I was even more surprised the carpet dance worked. I think the mitigating factor was that the FAs were not following procedures and that even though the PIC is ultimately responsible, this and his great dancing skills may have been why he kept his job.
