If you have 1000TT and a year of 121 you can be directly hired into the DC-9 as a first officer.

If you have better than 3000TT, and a nice flying record, you will go to the Falcon, and probably upgrade to captain within a year depending on performance.

Everyone else, no prior 121 experience, and no experience in jets, you will probably go to the Falcon as a first officer, and depending on your performance, move right into the DC-9, if you want. When I say right into the DC-9, we have guys that barely finish IOE for the Falcon and are in DC-9 ground school.

DC-9 FOs fly maybe 40 hours a month, on average.
Falcon 20 FOs fly maybe 30 hours a month, on average.

Despite what you may hear, you will hardly have any opportunities to sell your days off.

Per-diem is good, pay is good for a first year jet job . After your 2nd and third years as FO, the better regionals pay better, and you upgrade to Captain.

Everyone at the company is great to work with, top notch people in general.

SO, if you have a little less than 3000TT or better and prior 135 experience, this is the place to go to get quick Jet PIC in a year, depending on your performance.

If you have a hard on for flying the DC-9, and don't care that it is a 6 year wait to Captain on it, this is the place to go, if you have a year of 121 experience, and more than 1000TT.

If you have 1500 hours, and are just looking for your first jet job, might I remind you to multiply that average of 30 hours a month by a year. Even if you wanna be really liberal and multiply by gurantee, 55 hours, you are still looking at 4+ years to Falcon 20 CA.

IF you live in the Detroit Metro Area, and have a family, and cannot take the hit that is first year regional pay, this may be a good place for you.

USA Jet pays by a guarantee, unlike many of its competitors that pay by the mile, or hours flown. We have great MX on Dinosaur airplanes.

Oh, and if you have gobs of King Air time, they might even let you fly the King Air on the side.

Also, on the payscales listed on this website, CAPTAIN PAY is not years of employment at company. If you are an FO for 3 years on an aircraft, you go to 1st year captain pay on that aircraft. Also, it is my understanding once you are paid a specific rate, but possibly switch aircraft, you retain that pay rate until your seniority on the aircraft allows for better pay.

Have fun.....

My friend is in training right now with USA Jet...so far he has had only good things to say. He's in a class of 4 and got hired with around 1000TT and a little under 100 multi.

The only problem was that after his interview and being put into the "pool", it took about 3 months for him to get a class date.

But as they said, there's no training contract, and your paid your salary guarantee from day 1 of training. (and the pay is much better than year 1 at any regional out there).

The bad side...YIP. =P

But a good company over-all. I had an interview scheduled with them after my XJT one, but XJT offered me the job first...

I once knew a guy who flew so little at USAJet, he was not eligible to apply to certain regional airlines due to recency of flight experience.

That's really vague.

Hi!

Doing less overnights than in the past. If U do get an overnight, it's usually one night, and then back to YIP, because it's busy. If you're on the PAX ops, you get airlined/bizjetted to your plane, fly around for a week, and then come back.

We had guys break guarantee in the -9 last month. The hourly pay rate is high, so if you break guarantee, you make a good amount.

Upgrades to Falcon Capt are running 6 months if you have the time (3000TT). Do NOT have to live in YIP, and never did. Our latest -9 new hire class does not have ANYONE who lives anywhere near YIP. We also have the ABQ base, which is not near YIP.

DC-9 capt is 4000 TT, 500 PIC ME Jet, and other stuff.

Oh, and captain pay. If you're a Year 3 FO, and move to captain, you get Year 3 Captain pay. If you go from Falcon capt to -9 FO, you get -9 FO pay.

At least one 737 should be on the certificate in 2009, maybe 2008.

Where does it say we are getting a 737 in 2008, or even 2009. The GOV contract, which has the information readily available online on the particular departments website says late 2010. Maybe that isn't current, as it was published a year ago. Even then, the minimums for the first 737s we MIGHT have online will be extremely high, and probably not pay what any good LCC, or Legacy pays for the same aircraft.

I love USA Jet, but it isn't fair to sugar coat everything to inquiring minds.

It is true we do not do very many overnights, and when we do, we make nearly $48/day in per-diem. All those aircraft you see on the ramp, well at least half of them don't fly anyways, just like most of the planes you see at Willow Run on anyones ramp, haha.

We are CASS, and you can jumpseat on NWA, SWA, and in the back on USAir for sure. American and Delta will not reciprocate with us, unless you are able to bypass the black and white answer gate agent.

Anyways, when is that fleet of G3s coming from the USAF, that we are suppose to operate for them?

USA Jet worked well for me...UPS didn't seem to mind my having only ever flown cargo!! Never instructed...flew skydivers, Part 135 (all cargo in SA-227's), USA Jet, ACMI...then UPS.

I'm really curious as to who might 'look down on' someone's having flown cargo? And, what exactly their rationale might be?
