Best Regional For Phoenix Base

I just finished my associates degree in aviation about a year ago and I am a few months away from 1250 hours. I currently live about 2 hours away from phoenix, so it would be a driving commute, which I have heard is not a big deal.

Any recommendations? I hear phoenix is a pretty senior base.

Thank you

Also, I noticed skywest has a Tucson base. Is that a very senior base?

Mesa has a phx base, but it’s Mesa. No idea how senior it is. We, compass, have a phx base. As far as I know our new hires can get whatever base they want.

The further west you go the more senior Skywest gets.

I believe you can hold Phoenix with any one of them within a few months. Also, as I understand TUS goes more junior than PHX at SkyWest. Small base though. You might want to get more info from the Compass and SkyWest boards for specifics, but at Mesa you should be able to hold Phoenix out of training or within 1-2 months of hitting the line.

However, as was said before, it’s Mesa.

Honestly I think if you are trying not to commute and sit on reserve for too long then Mesa is your best option.

Compass is good also but I would be a little concerned about their future.

Skywest is also a good option but you would have to commute until you get PHX...then you would sit reserve for a while.

All of this, plus SkyWest Phoenix is senior on the captain side.

Thank you everybody for your responses! I never though anybody would recommend Mesa, but in this case it kind of makes sense.

If Phoenix is the deal breaker, Mesa will get you there the quickest and upgrade you there the fastest.

At Compass you'll get Phoenix out of training
