The 1-5yrs spent at a regional should be solely to position you to get to ideally a 30+ year career making some serious money. People who trade a $50K bonus but then get stuck for 3yrs longer then if they had gone another route give up millions.

Think the long game when making your choice even if it means eating dog food for a couple of years.
You act as if it's as easy as knowing what your airline wants and having PIC. I fly with captains regularly with great resumes who aren't getting hired. An AA wholly owned takes that risk away. Even if AA isn't where you want to end up it's a whole lot better than being stuck at a regional. Do I think envoy is better than republic? No. Do i think a flow is better than republic? Absolutely.

Respectfully, this is wrong. "people who trade 50k bonus and get stuck 3 years longer." Thats just plain inaccurate, at an AA wholly owned you can have an app out at every airline, including AA. American does hire its own regional pilots off the streets through the normal hiring process, bypassing the flow. It's happened. The likelihood of getting hired at AA, DL, and UA are exactly the same as any other regional. The only difference is that if things don't work out you have a guaranteed job at AA.

I have had my app out at all 3 legacies for a year and and a half with no call. If you don't think my reality can be yours, then your kidding yourself. Do yourself a favor and go to an AA WO.
