Useless, unless the seniority starts before indoc class at TSA (which their CBA would not allow).

Also UAL travel benefits are the most useless in the industry. The only available seat is the JS.

Is the TSA job like post-grad? Are there classes like "Theory of Compensatory Days Off for Getting Junior Manned into Your Compensatory Days Off"?

This right here...

I often tell folks that if it weren’t for the ability to list ID90 and Jumpseat on other airlines I wouldn’t have any flight benefits as a UAX employee at all.

Really? That's upsetting to hear. Is it because the flights are always so full, or the priority given isn't great?

It is hit or miss. Sometimes the flights are wide open and sometimes oversold. I've had pretty good success getting on United flights but my success of getting business or first is much lower than flying on Delta.

It depends on the city pairs. But more often than not I would plan on it being full or oversold.

Nothing in any of your links says that TSA students will get a seniority number. They will have to be hired and then get a number.

The original post said that "select" students. Its not a hand out, the students will have to interview and be successful both in the interview and flight program—and we should have faith in them because they can do it. Students will be successful en mass. The academic and training environment is there to be leveraged for beneficial outcomes. :o

The key elements here are the SEU financing with soon transition to full employment before graduation coupled with the TSA seniority. It is quite unique.

BS. You can't give seniority numbers to students/CFI's that would put them senior to actual TSA pilots later. No union allows that.
