The fewer the better. Three or more bags becomes a hassle if your commuting on a 50 seater, your crew room is two floors down without an elevator, you have to climb steps at the hotel, or getting on and off the crew shuttle/van. Not to mention having to find ice and/or refrigerators for the cooler.

My full sized laptop and full sized ipad fit, plus 4 days of food, in this single bag/cooler. Plus my roller, 2 bags.

Two bags is ideal if you commute, but feel free to take three if you need them.
