The fewer the better. Three or more bags becomes a hassle if your commuting on a 50 seater, your crew room is two floors down without an elevator, you have to climb steps at the hotel, or getting on and off the crew shuttle/van. Not to mention having to find ice and/or refrigerators for the cooler.

You also are limited to two bags if commuting on another airline.

I’ve never seen that actually enforced.

I do three, roller, flight kit, and small cooler. I bring my laptop with me and it would get destroyed in the roller and I haven’t seen a cooler that would fit my laptop and my EFB inside. Roller and cooler go in the overhead. If I’m deadheading I’ll throw a green tag on the cooler (there’s nothing fragile in there and my food is all in ziploc bags.).

If you’re not bringing food two should be more than fine.

My third bag is my cooler bag. 90% of the food I will eat on a 4 day trip fits into it. Its more healthy and convenient than eating out all the time and costs far less money in the long run. Haters can hate.

My full sized laptop and full sized ipad fit, plus 4 days of food, in this single bag/cooler. Plus my roller, 2 bags.

Yep. I’m happy to get called a bag lady when it means I’m saving 4-500 a month in per diem I never ate through.

Essentially never enforced for crew. Airlines have tried but the rank and file staff just blows it off.

Two bags is ideal if you commute, but feel free to take three if you need them.

Roll-aboard, not “roller board”

If you’re rolling a plank of plywood to sleep on across row 8, then by all means, roll it.

How many here have their GED, raise hands, please.
