Should I be worried?

I did the online application for xjt about 7 weeks ago and my resume was walked in a week later. I haven't seen or heard anything from them. Does this mean anything or should I be worried? How long did most of you wait?

nah, just keep updating your stuff...also maybe put something on your resume to make you stand out from the rest of the boring resumes that they have to read day in and day out. Good luck.

There are a lot of variables...under normal circumstances, at any airline, it often takes continued persistance on the part of you and your inside connection to draw attention to your resume.

With the current demand for pilots I might wonder after 7 weeks too. Is there something unusual about your background? Are you very low or high-time, or do you have background problems? Do you meet the XJet competetive mins?

It used to be common to apply to ten regionals, interview at 2-3, and get hired by one, maybe two. I wouldn't worry if one company doesn't call...apply to some other ones. It is not typical in this industry for the pilot to chose his employer, it's usually the other way around...anyone who holds out for their "dream airline" will probably be disappointed.

There is not anything unusual about me or my background, so who knows there. I did let my inside man know what the story is and he is going to do some poking around when he gets back.

I had an APD based in Houston tell me in 2005 that you can't walk stuff in because that part of HR was outsourced; perhaps things have changed?

FWIW, I well exceeded the Expressjet minimums, updated multiple times online, and never got a call for an interview. Once again, that was all in 2005. Good luck...

i wouldnt say i had the mins blown out of the water but i am pretty close to the competetive minimums, oh well.

I applied at Xjet and SKW. Xjet never called me, SKW hired me. So who knows...

They came out with a new job announcement in early April. I'd update the resume (or profile as they call it on the website) and apply to the new opening.
