Eagle MIA

If you choose MIA as a domicile what aircraft would you most likely get? The ATR?

WIPilot 04-23-2007 01:25 PM

as far as I am aware the ATR is the only aircraft in MIA

Illini 04-23-2007 01:36 PM

I think there are a few Jungle Jets.

swaayze 04-23-2007 08:20 PM

Nope, ATRs only for a MIA domicile. EMBs fly through from other domiciles.

I am also hoping to get on with Eagle in the MIA base. I was wondering how the QOL is being based out of MIA? Does anyone know if eagle will budge a tiny bit on there multi time? I am breaking myself trying to get it!

Grew up in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. I would take that in a heartbeat if I had the chance. Do they still do the Caribbean stuff in the ATR's??

Bri85 04-24-2007 12:48 PM

Eagle needs pilots, theyve been here up in daytona twice in the last month giving out interviews, and i say pretty much everywhere. Now in San Juan i know eagle flies the ATR's, but dont they have jets down there?

swaayze 04-24-2007 02:43 PM

Don't think they'll give much on the multi time.

ATRs only for a MIA or SJU base.

Tantive400 04-24-2007 03:18 PM

they are pretty strict on the ME time i have found out. Although the minimums drop to 400 and 50 i found out yesterday at riddle with the aviation degree.

A lot of newhires have been chosing AE lately since they allow you to pick your base before you show up for class. No more getting sent to some random base where you dont want to be.

blastboy 04-24-2007 05:18 PM

Is the upgrade time at AE still 100 years?

Flyby1206 04-24-2007 05:35 PM

We got it down to about 99 years now! I think the props are running about 7yrs and jets about 8.

HOLY CHRISTMAS! That's a long time! Isn't upgrade time at xjet or comair something around 2 years?

Flyby1206 04-24-2007 05:50 PM

The current folks upgrading at XJet are about 2yr seniority, I think Comair is currently running around 4-5? Skywest was under a year, along with a few others hiring street CAs. I chose to stay with AE because of stability, potential, and living in base is very very nice. The lure of the magic 1000 Turbine PIC hasnt bit me yet, so this suits me fine. I have 35 (maybe 40) years left of this job, no need to rush!

kitbrando 04-24-2007 07:52 PM

I thought eagle upgrades were down to 3-4 years? Either way, I don't really care. It seems like a great company!

Killer51883 04-25-2007 04:59 AM

Its a real good place to work with alot of stability. Thats the main reason the upgrade is so long cause people like it here and stay. Rumor is that the upgrades will be dropping to 3-4 years by the end of this year. MIA isnt a bad base but they only have a few destinations. SJU has some of the wildest flying youll ever do. They only have the ATR's in those bases though and some of the airports we go to in SJU couldnt fit any sort of jet so they probably wont be moving any down here any time soon.
