How would you handle this situation?
Well more a hypothetical situation. I was talking to a fraternity brother of mine about different airlines, he brought up Gojet and was totally ignorant of the whole situation there. I of course explained to him the goings on over there. The conversation got me thinking about what I would do if one day he did fly for Gojets. I was just curious how you guys would handle the situation if you bumped into an old friend who worked for Gojet or was a scab, better yet wanted to jumpseat?

Drug him into a coma before he is able to get the job with Gojets. Then wake him when they go out of business. :D
|
Bring him in and make him read all the APC postings on GoJets!

Dude, if you care about this person at all; keep him/her away from that place.
If he "hypothetically" took the job, and he came to you for a ride, you do the right thing and send him packing. You have to be a responsible professional at work, but you can still be his friend outside the work environment. No jumpseats for gojets, no exceptions. |
give him a copy of this book...only 4 bucks from amazon.

punch him in the Ovaries....right in the baby makers!!!
|
Re-initiate him, play butt buddy games or whatever you guys do on your venture. If he's sore at the end of all that, tell him that's how its going to feel after 1 bid at go-jets. He'll be taking it up the rare:p

Tell him how scabs are treated by co-workers for the rest of their life. We have two brothers working at FX, one is a strong union guy the other is a non-union scab. The union member has not spoken to his non-union brother in years, and likely never will.

I am in no way backing up GJ, but from an outsiders point of view who did the regional thing before, I can honestly say that if he can go to GJ upgrade quick, majority of the major airlines could care less about Go Jets and he will be sitting right next to you in a major airlines ground school sooner because he went to that "scab" airline, upgraded got the 1000 PIC and was done with that. I just think its funny because majority of the mainline pilots look at an RJ driver as a regional guy regardless where he is, your all in the same boat in a lot of peoples minds (not implying a scab, but someone who is doing their time to get to mainline or whatever your future goals might be). Just my 2 c.

I agree.... everyone hates Gojets....but... Are you going to pass up a chance to build CRJ time...PIC time in the CRJ....because everyone hates them? I don't think Insurance companies and regulations state that "Gojet" time doesn't count towards TT:D |
Sad
This is a BS post. I just hope that my profession gets rid of LCC that under pay. Just tell your buddy of the Comair incident and tell him to go fly go jets. Maybe his ignorance will meet theirs. What ever happened to cross checking your HSI heading with runway heading?

Tell him that all the flight attendants at GoJets are male. That SHOULD do it!

Friends don't let friends work at GoJet.

What to do?
It is fun to do some union saber rattling but truthfully now I would make him your best friend because with thinking like that he most likely will be your boss one day or you will be hitting him up for a job.

Sucking up to the weasels of the industry... That will help.
Be serious for once, please. |
