Isnt that what lifes all about, the experiences? Do what you love, you'll find a way to live around the money, or lack there of. We started flying because we loved it, we continue to fly because we love it.

What I've heard most from older airline pilots is that they wasted their life chasing empty dreams.

Doing what you "love" is a two sided sword. You might make it to the majors but that might be all you get out of this life. Everything has a price.

You're a real negative person....
Do you even have a private pilot's license?

It is not negative to present the facts. Smoking kills, that could also be considered as being negative.

I do not have a private pilots licence. I am the holder of an ATP. Do you have a Private Pilots Licence yet?

haha my man Sky used to fly for Alaska, Most older airline pilots I talk to look upon their career with a smile, despite the hardships, I can tell you this, nothing is sadder than talking to someone who gave up on their dreams.............just look at SKYHIGH, he rants and raves how happy he is, but lets face it despite his financial success he misses it, and more than anything I sincerely thinks he would love to get back into it.............My dream is to fly for CAL out of EWR, I don't know anybody there, so I have a long long way to go, but looking forward to the ride...............

I know it's a fact...
But the way you put it out there is like making people think twice about following their dream....you're crushing a kid's dream....
Remember that to get an ATP license, you need to be of good moral character

I never said that I didn't miss it. Life has its sacrifices. I had to make a choice. A better life for me and my family or stick with aviation.

18 years ago I also quit smoking. I miss it too.

Yeah a real life saver...
Whenever you see that big airplane going over your big safe vehicle, you can start your "what if" philosophy

I respect you for doing what had to be done for your family, to that I praise you. I have come across people in this world that would put themselves first, I always respect a man who does whats right for his family.

When you are an old man, I bet you will look back and say, man I wish I would have had more involvement in my union, and cared a little more about the pay an profession when I first got hired, the industry would sure be a lot different now.

And let me guess your not living the new dream lifestyle of an airline pilot yet.
