Having to restart

I was hoping some of you might be able to shed some light and your opinions on the regional market space. I admittedly haven't been keeping up to tabs on this sector as I thought there would be zero chance of returning. I am currently a CRJ captain at a 121 supplemental carrier that may be folding shop soon. I don't want to leave but if I have to earn a paycheck, well.. I currently have 5k TTL and 2k CRJ PIC. I live in the south east. Iv'e applied to all the ULCC's but haven't gotten that call. I was hoping you guys might give me a run down of which regionals I should strongly consider. My main goal is to fly for the majors, ANY major. I know I will probably have to commute which sucks. I did that for a year at Gojet in 2012 all on reserve. I would say that if I did return to regional flying my main goal would be becoming a check airman as fast as possible. I'm currently a ground instructor and recruiter. I appreciate any input as I'll be reading up all the sub forums.

SkyWest is hiring CRJ Ground instructors/Sim/CPT instructors... Upgrade is under a year. You would have to move to SLC to start.. while teaching ground, upgrade and move to more teaching Sim ect... then you could commute..

How about ACMI? Check a new box, new type, intl/heavy etc

Where exactly in the southeast? ZW has a CAE base and hiring street captains right now with CAE being junior.

Go to an AA wholly owned. Use the flow as a backstop to a job at another legacy carrier.
