Immediate classes & lots of flying

Wondering which regionals would offer a class like right away (more or less) and also have tons of flying. Ideally a nice upgrade time too. Granted you can't have everything in this life but....maybe a decent equilibrium of the things asked up there.

Thanks

One word: Mesa

I feel like that needs more then one word though..

Besides Mesa, maybe trans states. Skywest is probly a few months out. Republic and Endeavor likely much longer.
Not sure about PSA.

Last I heard from a friend ERJ at Skywest is into 2020 now and CRJ is November start dates but you can wait list and maybe get a class date sooner.

ZeroTT 07-05-2019 07:56 AM

PSA you’d be luck to hit 200 hours in 12 months. Lotta reserve

s3cLyfe 07-05-2019 09:51 AM

Compass - lots of movement, minimal reserve time, fly your tail off the day after you finish OE. Cons: class dates might be somewhat longer like everyone else, and you’re rolling the dice with the contracts. < contrary to the doom and gloom all over 9E and ENY forums, compass will keep flying into we’ll into 2020 and through 2023.

This. Have 6 month coming up in the next few weeks and will be north of 400 hours. Also already holding a line.

Thanks

Mesa.

Bid the CRJ (Instead of the Ejet) for the larger bonus, get an immediate class date (mine was 9 days after the offer), 3 months of training in PHX and on the line. 300% open-time trips being offered probably throughout the whole summer.

And upgrades are available when you have the required flight time. No waiting for your seniority to hold it.

CRJJ 07-05-2019 08:12 PM

It seems Mesa offers classes the fastest compared to others out there. First year with the bonus must be OK, but second year after looking at the payscale, must be a hard one.

Ask yourself why they are constantly offering 300%.

uipilot45x 07-06-2019 04:17 AM

Expressjet is an option. They seem to be getting people into class quickly. There’s a lot of flying.

I don’t know how it is now but I got CLE out of class and often blocked 15-30 hours in a month. Lots of browns games. Lots of Indians games. Lots of cavs games.

If I called during APW to grab a trip they would call me an hour later and tell me a lineholder took it.

Anyone hiring DEC's into the E175 right now (not interested in other types, thanks)?

Compass isn’t doing DEC per say...but upgrade times are LOW due to lack of upgrade available FOs.

I totally understand that, but life sometimes throws you a curve ball and you gotta react and keep moving. Not a 1st choice, but hey.

This. It's a known fact that E175 pilots are better than CRJ pilots. Also mainline hires more of them.

I'm kidding. Type makes no difference. I hope I didn't cause any CRJ drivers to stroke out.

That’s kind of my point. If I have one, which I rarely do.

What’s true today won’t be true tomorrow.

Mesa was recently, not positive if they still are.

Regardless, if you have the qualifications and make it through training, you can upgrade whenever you apply for it. They are short on Ejet CA’s.

Staffing. Because people use Mesa as a stepping stone and move on.

Go to whichever regional has base near where you live. Drive to work will make your life 1000% better. Even if you have to wait. Don't commute.

Nobody ever told me how ****ty commuting would be, and like you, I decided to commute to the best regional and after 3 yrs I'd much rather drive to a crap regional. Much rather

This is wisdom born of experience. Pay heed. Commuting is ongoing misery. Stress the ride to work when you're home and stress the ride home when you're at work. It doesn't stop. Ever.

Widebody RJ. My sides!

rld1k 08-01-2019 07:13 AM

Go to a legacy regional that flies wide-bodies

Exactly. It’s a night and day difference. Every regional sucks, the only difference is what specifically sucks. Driving to work is a huge QOL bump at any regional.

Republic is now advertising August and September class openings. Just under 2 year upgrade.

All the regionals are stepping stones to move on. Some are crappier stepping stones than others.

I think our upgrade will be at 1 year with the 30 DL birds coming on line.

Yeah maybe seniority will hold that, but for the majority they won’t have the hours. At least 1.5 years for most, longer for 1000 hr R-ATP guys.
