Splitting Referral Bonus

This thread is ridiculous. Split it, don’t split it, every situation is different. When I started I gave a friend’s name and because I knew they were needing the money I didn’t ask them to split it. A while later another friend asked if I would split the bonus with him if he put my name down. I said sure. Why turn down half when the alternative is zero? Maybe I’m too dumb or not self righteous enough. Whatever

An acquaintance tried to get me over to Piedmont, put quite some effort in.
Till I told him I’d expect him to split the bonus with me if I mentioned his name.
If not I’ll mention somebody else name.
You’re basically a blue falcon if you don’t split it.
All went quiet when I got hired elsewhere...
What happened?
I thought we were buddies?

When I was at the regionals i flat out refused to refer anyone and get money because we were 6+ years in negotiations. My "referall" for people was to go elsewhere. Never saw a bonus of any kind at the regionals.
Referall bonuses are garbage. Refuse it and demand that money in your compensation package.

I will probably be applying to PSA in the next month or so and I'm accepting offers from current pilots to split the referral bonus. So far the best offer I have is 60% me 40% him. If you'd like to offer something better, please PM me.

I find it can be difficult to split in some cases because they pay the bonus at my airline in phases. Paid in phases based on the longevity and performance of the referred pilot (people have different things going on in life which means milestones within the company happen at different times and not to mention the bonus is of course taxed. I don't necessarily mind splitting it but I'm sorta along the line of, hey I get the bonus by referring you. You get the bonus by referring someone else, so on and so on. I don't go back and ask for a 1/4 split from a guy I referred who later got money by referring another person. It gets a little stupid. Just keep paying it forward.

Do you all seriously think regionals that offer referrals are actually hard to get in to? Like you're getting them in? LOL
They're paid for you to shill the company to your impressionable buddies back at school because recruiting can't get enough in

There’s a reason they’re paying for referrals.
