Regional seek experience

Hello, what’s better in order to get in to a regional, 135 experience or Cfi?

I would doubt most regionals have a preference of how you got it, you should ask yourself, what’s the quicker route? Low time jobs @135 are flooded with applicants. CFI job nearly guaranteed anywhere in the country.

So it doesn’t matter how you build hours?

Nope. Go the CFI route if you can, high demand.

Go the CFI route, it will make you a much better pilot and will also keep your head geared towards learning which will pay off once you start 121 training.

Thank you guy working on that

I’m aiming for a mix of both. We’ll see how it all plays out...

I would say 135 prepares you better for the 121 world. I did both, and yes teaching makes you a good pilot, but being IFR all the time in bad weather going to major airports with complex procedures teaches you more for 121. Also, ground school, sims, and checkride all are very similar to 121

That^^

To max the chance of your app getting pulled, do both. CFI until you have the hours for a year at a 135 outfit. Preferably NOT SIC at the 135 outfit.

I agree with you that doing both looks good. Why would you tell someone to not take an SIC job at a 135 outfit at say, 1000-1200 hours, for a year, though (besides the obvious that PIC time is always better)? I did a year as an SIC on a Citation Excel (got a full PIC type at FSI) and I feel like the training experience, jet time, and on-the-job crew experience was invaluable. Everyone has their own opinion, I'm just curious to hear your thought process with that.
