Most of the website is talking about how you get swindled into a small jet instead of a Boeing or Airbus.

From someone who has actually seen slaves (in Mauritania), I really find it offensive when people who have no idea what a slave actually is throwing that term around.
^^^ This. Switch careers if you hate it.

These people don't get economics.

You COULD run a 777 between ATL and GSP. Every other Tuesday at 1300.

The days of a 727 making the round robin tour of all the small towns, with 50 empty seats and a fuel burn slightly worse than an F4 on afterburners, are looooong gone

They also don't realize that a 175 is way more comfortable than a Boeing or an Airbus.

So if the term “slave labor” offends you, what’s a better descriptive for doing the same job with the same responsibilities/risks for 1/5 of the pay/benefits? I take offense for the lack of valuing my skills.

Only place it's 1/5 is comparing to a wide body. Compared to a 737 it's more like 1/3, but you're flying 1/3 of the people. They'd go broke paying us the rates of mainline. I'd say 5 years ago pay would be a big issue but starting at 50k a year as an FO isn't bad. At some places you can upgrade into $90+ an hour. Hardly slave labor.

Did you take a job at a regional?

I’d call it a “free market.”

As pointed out, it’s free will and free market. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to work at a regional. You are free to take your labor elsewhere. Heck, way back when I started in this industry I can guarantee I made far less, but it was still my choice to do so.
I suggest you do some reading on true slave labor and slave labor camps in place like the Soviet Union, China and North Korea. The slaves I ran into in Mauritania had no choice. What the heck do they teach in school?

Using the term slave labor minimizes the pure hell that our history and treatment of slaves really was. It is just as offensive as the orange man calling immigrants all murderers and rapists, or shillary calling his supporters deplorables.
If you believe your wages and work rules are slavery you really do need to get out into the real world of ditch digging, retail sales, customer service, convenience stores, fast food, roofing or landscaping in Arizona in August etc for a little perspective
