Choosing between Envoy, Skywest and Republic
#21
Combine that with the worst reserve rules in the industry that they’ve “been fixing” since 2012 but never actually fix anything. Compounded by some of the most abusive and vindictive managers in the industry.
They issue disciplinary letters like candy, and it keeps the union busy fighting to clear everybody’s records. Most regionals share ALPA lawyers; Envoy has two (2) ALPA attorneys assigned to them due to the level of CBA and personnel issues.
Regardless of what anybody tries to claim, that fact alone, that ALPA had to assign two lawyers should tell you everything you need to know about their management. If the need weren’t there, two lawyers wouldn’t be there. That’s fact.

How about some numbers instead of name calling?
5 year captain, SRJ pay.
Skywest 82/hr
Endeavor 92/hr
Republic 92/hr
Commutair 71/hr
Mesa 69/hr
Envoy 83/hr
GoJet 78/hr
Air Wisconsin 79/hr
Average 80.75/hr
$83.42/hr is above average. Notice how I even skewed the average by including the highest paid regionals and skipped some lower paid ones.
First year FO pay, $50.21/hr, is also above average.
Currently a 6 year captain at $93.80/hr is close to Endeavor and Republic. This is a moving target because of our pay banding, the most junior guy on the LRJ pay is a 9/2014 hire.

I wouldn’t choose a regional because of bases. Of course choose one that makes a commute easy, if it comes to that. The regional business model is based off contract flying. That means the regionals march to their mainline partners drum. Regionals open and close bases at the same rate celebrity’s change their spouses.

In other words, a new CA upgrade at Republic will make just as much as your most senior pilot at Envoy. Wow, just wow.
