Regional reserve times

Hello all,

Just trying to get a feel for time on reserve at different regionals right now. I have been on reserve 4 months but when i joined this company people were getting lines straight from IOE.

I have heard some regionals you can be on reserve for up to 1 year?

Anyone care to give their experience?

When I got hired at my regional, no one got reserve. Lines straight out of OE. As I was finishing training they opened a new base and I was on reserve for six months. Then I almost got a line and they opened a new base, and I was on reserve another 3 months.

Moral of the story is that this is an ever changing target.

At my regional, reserve varies for new hires from 1 month to 18 months, depending on the base.
Living in base on reserve usually beats commuting for a line. All depends on what's going on in your life.

Best and truest answer: it varies

fluctuates. Best bet is to look in the individual forums of the regionals you are interested in. Beware of "right now it's" or "for me it was" answers, because the reality may be totally different by the time you finish training.
