Regionals who overnight GRR or LAN?
Trying to pick a regional and think if I can get overnight close to home could make up some on the commuting side. Any thoughts appreciated. Skywest and Endeavor are closest driving to base but it’s a solid 2 hour drive in good weather/traffic.

Depends on the time of year, an airline's contracts (which are subject to change at a moment's notice), and how the network is divvied up by the majors that serve said airports. In other words, the moment you get hired at a regional for it's layovers is the moment they'll all change. Probably the most frequently changing part of the regionals.

Granted, I presume you wouldn't hold either base right away, but driving to work if it's an option with carriers that may still get you some flights there seems nice.
From a commuting perspective, Endeavor will give you higher nonrev and jumpseat priority except on SkyWest flights but you may have to start with a NYC commute. The bright side is you would be able to drive to DTW if necessary to turn it into a 1 leg commute rather than a 2 leg.
