The PCL MEC met yesterday (the 10th) over the -900 flying, PCL mgmt and the MEC meet in KS on the 16th with the NMB to work over the last remaining (and big issues). These issues are scope, job protection, job security, duration, and benefits as well as the new -900 flying. I am curious as to what has been agreed on as far as compensation, retro pay, scheduling, and retirement (401k) benefits. What is slowing the completion?- well there is mgmt wanting to pay less and have more power than the pilot group... simple.. but soo difficult to deal with. In PCL's defense the pilot group seems pretty darn adamant about not settling for a sub-par contract. The fact that we have an arbitrator can be looked at in 2 views- 1) arbitrators look for an average, this would be a huge improvement to what we currently have, yet 2) average is normally all you get- no industry leading stuff... But as I have said before "I have high hopes and low expectations"
