RAH training questions

Just recently got hired be RAH, start class next week in the 145. I was just curious if anyone knew what to expect for training, such as length, days off, and what I can expect for a base. thanks

First, congrats on joining the team. You are in a good place.

Indoc will last about a week and a half. Plan on that being done in Indy. Then the whole class will go to either Houston or St. Louis for systems class. After that, your class may be split up and one group will get sent to the other training center for sim training. Plan on this process taking 1 1/2 month to 2 months. On to IOE next. You will get weekends off, generally speaking.

As for bases, I could not tell you where you will go. It would seem that the system is wide open, but someone else may have better info on that. Oh, LGA may not be an option.

Good luck in class.

Indoc is 1 1/2 weeks in Indy. Systems is 3 weeks in either Houston or St. Louis. You'll get weekends off for these two phases. Sim is about 2 weeks in either Houston or St. Louis. Don't count on weekends off during sim. Usually you get 1 day off a week in sim for a grand total of, you guessed it, 1 day off. Oral will happen sometime after your last SIT/CPT session, which happens during the last week of systems. My oral was 2 days before my checkride. IOE will NOT, repeat after me, WILL NOT be delayed. Count on IOE beginning within 7 days after your checkride. This may or may not be in your base. IOE consists of at least 25 hours of flying. For me, it took 2 three-day trips to get the time. IOE will probably consist of weekends off because most of the check-airmen are senior enough that they don't work weekends. Count on being on reserve after that. Probably not for a long time, but there will be reserve. Hope it helps. Congrats, and good luck.

Im assuming this is the same schedule for the CRJ guys? I am in the May 30th class (CRJ). I have asked this before but got mixed answeres, does anyone know if I will be on reserve longer flying the CRJ? Thanks in advance

I've heard that the only difference is you will be on a bit of delay getting IOE. On my last IOE trip, we had a jumpseater that was CRJ who was hired before I was, but he hadn't started IOE yet.
