Overnight Question
Hello all,
Looking at all regional possibilities. I currently live in MEM and planning to commute for a while. While numerous other factors, looking for opinions on who has the most overnights in MEM, from which base, and how difficult they are to bid for. Thank you! |
Those details change month to month. (But in my experience, with numerous factors in my favor, even 1 per month consistently is tough)
horizon would be a poor choice, Otherwise just look on FlightAware and see who has departures before 10 AM. Those are the carriers that currently overnight in Memphis and ease of commute would quickly swamp any home overnight possibilities |
Heads up that MEM to any Delta hub is a disaster of a commute. Even New York is tough.
|
My advice would be to move out of Memphis.

Unless the airline has a maintenance base at your location don’t go there specifically for the overnight. Regionals change routes all the time. If you’re gonna stick in Memphis find the easiest commute.....maybe ORD?

Easy. Just go to fedex. Problem solved.

“Easy” and “FedEx” in the same sentence. That is hilarious.

sure. Just call their 1-800 number and tell them you needs a job ASAP.
Understandable. You're hired |
I’m somewhat surprised that Delta hubs are still a tough commute from MEM; is that still due to removal of the Pinnacle/NWA base?
I too am living in MEM and looking to get back into flying (no prior 121, previously corporate). We would eventually move but it may not be easy to do so for a couple of years. Our eventual preference would be for the upper Midwest. I’ve checked on frequency of flights to ORD, MSP, IAH, NY, DC, etc, but cannot infer availability of space for commuting. In general terms (besides not commuting), is it possible to determine what major bases may be best commutable? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
