Hey Everyone.. Quick question, I was in a discussion with some people and discussing the term "pool" as it pertains to groups of people. Think, "I was given a CJO and put in their hiring pool until class dates start again".

So the question is, do you think the word "pool" is a negative term, or has a negative connotation to it, or do you think its ok?

wut? Why would it ever be negative? You need to post some specifics about this "argument" so we know where the heck you are coming from.

It doesn't matter any way, it is just a matter of weeks before all job offers from every Regional are rescinded. Nobody is going to be hiring for a long time and when they do they will re-interview because so much time will have passed.

If anything "pool" is optimism. Every word is positive except furlough. Furlough is negative.

WTH are you talking about? Pool is just an industry term for your potential employment status... it's not racist or derogatory or anything.

If the being a "poolie" offends you, simply send them a letter resigning from their pool... that will show them.

This is one of the stranger questions I have heard. They gave you a cjo and placed in a pool, think multiple people with you, until training starts up again.

There isn’t a single thing negative to that. Congrats, you have a job offer. Sorry it came during this mess.

And I don't think the negative for pool had nothing to do with race. It was a negative in that you're just a number and not a person or a pilot.
