Mainline FFD Contracts

Is there any public information about mainline FFD contracts. “Well XYZ has to honor their contract with BrickEast Express so...” is a staple of recent posts but does anyone know the degree (and range) of flexibility in the dozen or more actual contracts? It it’s anything like CBA’s there’s a lot of variation and devils in the details

Lots of variations and devils.

UAL actually took advantage of weak language in UAX FFD contracts a number of years ago to screw over a couple regionals. This was stuff which everybody in the industry knew the intent of the language but it was weak enough to be manipulated to the advantage of one party. After that, regionals got a lot smarter (or hired smart lawyers) so I would assume current contracts say what they mean and mean what they say in no uncertain terms. Probably no Force Majuere, at least not unless a regional was under the gun when it took the contract. That crap is for labor contracts, businesses are much less likely to sign on for that kind of exposure.
