RAH FOs now make $19k/yr

Republic pilots have voted 1840 to 171 in favor of an LOA which prevents furloughs!

Conditions:
  • Captains who would have been downgraded will instead be reduced to 45 hours min guarantee and 10 days of work per bid.
  • First Officers who would have been furloughed will be reduced to 32 hours min guarantee and 10 days of work per bid.
  • The agreement would be valid through March 31st.

Guess they’re just prorating days worked/available.

at least it’s gives guys guaranteed time off to Work a side hustle/job to make up the difference but still keep their toe in the flying pond.

Still beats unemployment as I’m assuming they still get full benefits. A lot of airlines are going to zero time lines so good for republic for at least paying something.

Btw: it wasn’t that long ago regional FOs we’re making 19k a year and working full time, haha.

Why a different MMG for
CA and FO but same work days?

The increased MMG for the captains equals 75 hours of FO pay. What they would have made when they were originally slated to get downgraded.

That's correct. It is much easier to pursue side work with a steady (albeit small) paycheck and benefits. The situation is unfortunate but this is a reasonable lifeline vs being furloughed into an abysmal job market.

Compared to the United deal this one doesn't require sacrifice from those who would not have been affected. I doubt the United TA will pass with this large of a margin but we shall see.

As the other person said, it was so the company would only have to pay the dowgraded CAs as if they were FOs. They see no benefit to this LOA other then not being downgraded.

FOs meanwhile go from zero pay and benefits to full benefits and 32.5 mmg. Also the 10 days of work must fall into a 14 day period that you bid foe. So you will have over half the month blocked off to work a side job.

It is important to note that min day is still 4.12 hours if you are called in to work on Reserve. You could also get a line for your 10 days of work that brings you well over that.

Aero crew is useless. TMZ of the airline world. RPA FO's don't make 19k/year.

Even if they did. 19k/year working 10 days a month with the ability to keep health and travel benefits is something every regional/airline that will potentially furlough should consider. PSA management just rejected their union's furlough mitigation plan. I'd be willing to bet those PSA FO's would take what Republic passed in a heart beat.

According to this, under the new guarentee, they do:

Sorry for the concessions. I hope there’s language for the money to come back if and when...
