I just guessed all the calculation question, and focused on the other types of questions, I got a 89% on it, not the best but better than busting my ass to learn all of those calculations to get a 93% whats it matter really? Best advice I can give is spend the 80 bucks or whatever get the KING ATP 121 prep spend two days just on the thing non-stop and go take the test, it wasnt bad at all, after seeing the questions you will know the answer on the real test from just reading the groups of answers..........good luck

That is true if you want to get 90% or better. All they want to see is that you have passed the exam; 70% anybody?

Also the idea of requiring you to have your ATP done before starting is so that they don't have to pay for it when you're ready to upgrade. You're just saving them few bucks. Got the idea?

Airlineapps says comair does not require an ATP written, I have to agree with whoever on here posted, that the regionals are lower their requirements not tightening up on them. I know several people flying the line without it.....They do want it before upgrade JUST so they dont have to pay for it.... This was told me by one of the recruiters ( a Captain) AT our interview..... Also when we were about 2 weeks into class they told us to bring all of our certificates and medicals, when we asked if to bring the writtens they laughed and were like KEEP THAT IN A SAFE PLACE TIL YOU UPGRADE........ your decision though

Just take the freakin' test.

I'd suggest taking the test. I was hit heavy on 121 stuff in my interview. I had about a week and a half to prep for taking it. Just used the Gleim test prep software...took the real thing after I could get an 85% or better 3 times in a row. Got an 88% on it. That was guessing at the complex calcs and doing only a few of the more simple ones. Whether or not you need it is another story. Some in my class have it, some don't. I'm glad I have it out of the way now - one for the tech portion of the interview and two for just not having to do it later on. I have a few friends trying to find time to study for it now, inbetween flying and life, so they can upgrade. Good Luck!

POAK,

You have to believe me because I have been to Comair. You are correct they will not make copy of your ATP; however they still want you take it before attending class. The idea SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT was said to us during the week of basic Indocs, by one the chief pilot who can to visit the class, unless things have changed. Who knows.

Take it and pass

I did the one day crash course at ATP and ended up getting 85%. I told a few guys and got some smirks as they were oh so proud of their 95%+. Well I took my ATP checkride and got my rating and guess what? It says AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT. Don't get me wrong...I'm not one for half a$$ing anything. If the ATP written truly contained the stuff you need to know on a daily basis I would say max it but the truth is there is some goofy stuff on that test. I guess if I'm interviewing at a major someday and they want to know about weight and balance of a 1900 I'm screwed but somehow I'm not sweating it. :)

Yeah I work for Comair too.......they never took anything and like I said I know tons of FO's without it

RJ900 06-05-2007 05:06 PM

Good deal, I would guess those TONS OF FO were smarter than I because Laurie wanted me to take mine before coming to Comair. I guess she succeeded in scaring me!!!! Anywho, just take the test if you have to.
