Mesa June 18th

Just wanted to see if anyone had any information regarding the June 18th class yet?

Uhoh... you probably shouldn't have brought up Mesa. That's a sore topic around here. I will refrain from commenting further.

"Just wanted to see if anyone had any information regarding the June 18th class yet?"

What kind of information are you looking for?

Freight Dog 06-05-2007 12:23 PM

honk, check your PM.

Socal Pilot 06-05-2007 12:29 PM

I was looking to see if anyone had received there travel info or any pre-class study material.

de727ups 06-05-2007 12:39 PM

Okay.

Now, if somebody has any non-insulting, useful, information about the subject matter at hand, please feel free to speak up.

One user in this thread just got booted and another user today, who's posts are often immature and disrespectful, is on double super secret probation.

If people want to discuss the problems they have with Mesa airlines, they simply need to do it in a respectful, mature, manner. Cute one-liners will disappear and outright flames could get you banned.

My bad.. sorry for my witty comment earlier. I dont have much information on Mesa other than what I gather on here. To be honest, you will probably get a pretty quick upgrade depending on what equipment you end up flying as the attrition has historically been quite high. Other than that, I'm mostly in the dark. There is a Mesa specific forum that you can also direct questions to at www.mesalounge.com. Good luck in training and study hard!

Not sure how the travel arrangements work but as far as pre study stuff goes, if they dont send you anything in the mail, a good place to get a head start on RJ stuff is www.crj2.com/start.html

The mesalounge forums were shut down long ago due to legal action (as I understand it). www.mesahub.com has replaced it.

The quick upgrade is mostly a thing of the past...I wouldn't go there for that. In fact if you take a look an mesahub you will see an ongoing discussion about senior FO's being frozen in the right seat of the dash...to make room for street captains!!! This is a new outrage, mesa has never allowed jet FO's to upgrade in props (lifetime equipment lock), but now the prop FO's can't even upgrade in their own airplane!

I assume they are doing this to save training event $$ (one instead of two) and because street captains are cheaper and generally are more aligned with the company than with the pilot group.

Not sure what MAG ALPA's doing right now, but I know they've had massive turnover, and have had three MEC chairs in the last year or so.

Diver Driver, you're not the problem.

Honk got booted. Usually these things are kept amongst the mods but maybe it's good to make it public sometimes. Some people at the wild and crazy regional forums need to start watching how they are coming across. This site isn't your personal little playground to belittle and demean other pilots. Once in a while is no big deal, even I'm guilty of that, but the level of trash talk by certain folks is starting to get noticed.

So, if trash talk is your forte, you may not last long.

You've still got some time... apply to a regional with a better upgrade (xjt, skw, republic), and one that's more organized!

PS- Block or better or bust.... go for it guys.

Socal Pilot,

What did your interview consist of with Mesa?

AbZorbFly 06-12-2007 06:32 AM

Why would you do a walk around with a McDonald's bag in hand?

I have video

So the starving FO won't eat the captains food!

Blkflyer 06-12-2007 10:58 AM

Mesa

If you want to Know about Mesa I suggest you go to an airport where they fly and talk to the people who are currently flying for them.. talk to the FOs online there and make your own opinion.........I do think you should know that their work rules are not the best in the industry. but talk to people who are there to get a feel before you jump head in first.. dont let the I am an Airline Pilot Syndrome get to you....

Socal-

I have been at Mesa for roughly 5 months. I have enjoyed myself during my time here. I fly the -8, and love it. The captains are great, the overnights even better (durango, vail, aspen). I have never sat reserve, and have 14 days off this bid.

From what I understand, they are running a Air Midwest new hire class this summer, but don't know if that is you guys or not.

Enjoy training, study, but don't kill yourself doing so. Be sure to visit Tempe one night for some refreshments and a look at some amazing women.

Keep a good attitude, and enjoy yourself. Don't let the posts on here discourage you. If you do, it will truly poison your spirit and you will become unhappy, bitter, condecending, and all knowing as so many on here are.

You better pray you don't get displaced from the Dash! Your tune will change quickly! BTDT.
