Conde Nast Suggests Avoiding 50-Seaters

Honestly the DOT should regulate maximum cabin temps. Or some kind of maximum temperature for the APU MEL. I have seen older people in seriously bad shape getting off of CRJ’s with no APU in the summer. Airlines will never do it on their own; at least regionals won’t.

if it’s above32c in the back we are not supposed to accept the ac .
Some cpts will go ahead and do it to please the co and some won’t .
It should be mandated by the Faa, above 32c in the back , with out an apu, the plane is grounded . Period
it won’t happen though until someone dies of a heat stroke in the back of a 200 or 145 in the summer with no apu or pca.

Some people are going to complain no matter what. A lot of these airports used to have Beech 1900’s, Saab’s, Dashes or other various propeller airplanes.
Now they want something akin to an A220 with no one sitting within 10 feet of them. They want multiple flight options. And they want it fo $50.

Your reply confuses me? You’re way on the opposite end of what I was getting at. Nowhere did I imply doing anything unsafe. I fully agree that cabin temperatures need to be regulated, and should be by the FAA. Ever been sweating it out in the back on a Delta mainline flight because the captain won’t start the APU until D-10? High cabin temps aren’t just a regional problem

Was on the "modern marvel" GoJet's CRJ 550 the other day and everybody was dying in the back until we got up in the air. I counted about 100 times where I saw somebody's hand go up to the gaspers checking to see if they were closed or something. Some people did it multiple times. Again, if you have an APU that can "shoot you to the moon" well then use it. And if you don't then you can't complain when people say they hate flying in your small aircraft.
